==PRINTERS==


LEXMARK T654dtn (monochrome/double side): uses recycled paper and can print on both sides of the sheet “automatically”.
 
HP CP2025dn (colour/double side): uses normal (white) paper, can print on both sides of the sheet “automatically”.


HOW TO PRINT FROM THE WORKSTATIONS (LINUX):

To see the current printer queues:
         lpstat -a

In order to print from the shell or any other program that asks for it, you have to use the following commands:

LEXMARK - SIMPLE SIDE PRINTING
          lpr -P NAME_OF_PRINTER_QUEUE -o InputSlot=Default -o Resolution=150x150dpi -o PageSize=A4 \
          -o Duplex=None file_to_print

LEXMARK - DOUBLE SIDE PRINTING 
           lpr -P NAME_OF_PRINTER_QUEUE -o InputSlot=Default -o Resolution=150x150dpi \
           -o PageSize=A4 -o Duplex=DuplexNoTumble file_to_print

HP LASERJER COLOR - SIMPLE SIDE PRINTING
           lpr -P NAME_OF_PRINTER_QUEUE -o InputSlot=Lower \
           -o PageSize=A4 -o Duplex=None file_to_print


Graphic programs have their own printing menu or process; obviously, one has to follow the program’s instructions in order to print.

SHARED PRINTERS (on other floors/buildings): 

The printer IMP_COL_GES (HP Enterprise 500 M551), is available for all the users. It's an automatic double sided color printer (like the IMP_COL_ADM printer) and it's located in the administrative management area. The color printer on the first floor is IMP_COL_PB (Lexmark C532). It's a one-side color printer.


PRINTING POSTERS for conferences...

If you need to print a poster as a contribution to a conference, or similar, ICIQ has an agreement with "SERVIREPRO" and "Digital Bou" printing services.  Servirepro should be the 1st option as they're cheaper. They're in C/Pare Palau Pare Palau , 10 baixos 43001 TARRAGONA Tel. 977 22 50 10 - Fax 977 21 82 08
www.servirepro.com and you can email the poster to them. They print on paper, plastified paper and on fabric. 
You can find "Digital Bou" at "Carrer Fortuny 6, Tarragona", 977 25 15 90

To print the poster you will need to ask Núria Vendrell to make a purchase order, then send the poster to servirepro@servirepro.com or servirepro@gmail.com or alternatively the other printers: digital@grupbou.com. And pick up the poster at their shop (you won't have to pay anything but you'll have to hand in the purchase order and sign a receipt, which you're to give to Núria V). To check how long will they take to print the poster and other details, contact them. Posters are usually ready in two working days.

==FAX-PHOTOCOPIER-SCANNER==

There is also a fax/photocopier/scanner machine in the lab, in the printers area. The lab’s fax number is 977 92 02 31, but if someone is faxing you something from another ICIQ lab or department, you have to tell them that our extension number is 321 ("internal call"). 

The HP LaserJet Pro M475dw has many options so here are some brief instructions on its basic functions:

FAX: Put your document on the tray with the text facing up, then you press the “fax” symbol on the screen, a telephone-like screen will come up,  dial “0” first and then the fax number (remember to use “00” and the country’s code before the fax number if you’re faxing abroad!). Check that the number is right and press "start fax" 
If you are faxing another ICIQ lab or department, just dial their fax extension (no “0” needed)

PHOTOCOPIER: Place your documents on the feeder (or on the glass if it's only one), with the text/images facing up.Press the "Copy" symbol on the screen and "Black" or "Color" to start printing. If you need several copies, double-sided etc. you have to press the "Settings" option and you'll get a menu with: number of copies, reduce/enlarge, lighter/darker, select tray, 2 sided (1 side to 1 side, 2 sides to 2 sides, 2 sides to 1 side)

SCANNER (PDF files): Place your documents on the feeder (or on the glass if it's only one), press the "Scan" symbol. The options you have are: scan to USB, scan to network folder, scan to email. If you want to email the scan, the screen mentioned on the fax section above will pop-up, you just have to key in the address. Martín has set up the scanner so that with the "network folder" option, scans are saved in http://aliga.iciq.es/fsn/# in USERS_AREA  -> ScannedFiles where you or another person can download it.


On the main menu screen, you'll see a row of symbols, the last on (top right) shows how much tones is left. Please check it from time to time and tell Martín/Núria if you see that one colour is running out.


You can also use a photocopier machine that is on the first floor (Administration office next to the stairs and lift). That machine is also a scanner and from it you can send PDF documents to email addresses (some ICIQ email addresses are saved in the memory). There is also a fax machine in that office.
