=== Linux Environment===

To write a text you can chose mainly between:

* [[LaTeX]]

* OpenOffice word processor


To deal with references you can use: 

* [[JabRef]] program for Latex (http://jabref.sourceforge.net/).

* You could try to use the OpenOffice bibliographies: http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/tutorial/Bibliographies.html#0.1.Adding%20a%20bibliographic%20entry|outline (don't know if it does work)

=== Windows Environment ===

To write a text you can chose mainly between:

* Microsoft Office. 

* You may want to use the OpenOffice word processor instead.

* There are several programs available that allow you to use [[LaTeX]] in Windows (i.e. MikTeX), [[writeLaTeX]], some of them with friendly graphical environments.(To learn more http://www.pinteric.com/miktex.html ) 

To deal with references:

* EndNote program is the Microsoft tool.

* You could try to use the OpenOffice bibliographies: http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/tutorial/Bibliographies.html#0.1.Adding%20a%20bibliographic%20entry|outline (don't know if it does work)


Microsoft Office and EndNote are available also via [[Terminal Server]].
