HP Colour LaserJet: uses normal (white) paper, can print on both sides of the sheet “manually”.

HOW TO PRINT FROM THE WORKSTATIONS (LINUX):

In order to print from the shell or any other program that asks for it, you have to use the following commands plus the name of the file to be printed.

Lexmark printer: IP= 10.0.7.210, command “lexsim” (“simplex” printing) or command “lexdup” (“Duplex” printing)

Colour printer: IP= 10.0.7.211 , command “color”.

Graphic programs have their own printing menu or process; obviously, one has to follow the program’s instructions in order to print.

PRINTING POSTERS for conferences...

If you need to print a poster as a contribution to a conference, or similar, ICIQ has an agreement with "Grup Bou" printing services. You can find them at "Carrer Fortuny 6, Tarragona", 977 25 15 90 http://www.hotfrog.es/Empresas/Bou-Digital-Color To print the poster you will need to talk with Núria Vendrell to make a purchase order, then send the poster to digital@grupbou.com. And pick up the poster at their shop (you won't have to pay anything but you'll have to hand in the purchase order and sign a receipt, which you're to give to Núria V). To check how long will they take and other details, contact them. Posters are usually ready in two working days.

FAX-PHOTOCOPIER

There is also a fax and photocopier machine in the lab, it is between the printers. The lab’s fax number is 977 92 02 31, but if someone is faxing you something from another ICIQ lab or department, you have to tell them that our extension number is 321.

In order to fax a document, you to have to put it on the tray with the text facing up, then you press the “fax” key (on the left), you dial “0” first and then the fax number (remember to use “00” and the country’s code before the fax number if you’re faxing abroad!). Check that the number is right and press the green key “Inic.” (=Start) on your right.

If you are faxing another ICIQ lab or department, just dial their fax extension (no “0” needed). To make photocopies, key in how many you need with the keyboard and press the green key on the right (Inic.). If you need to stop the machine or clear any values you have keyed in, just press the red key “borrar/parar” (=clear/stop)

You can also use a large photocopier machine that is on the first floor (Administration office next to the stairs and lift) if you need good quality photocopies or have to make many copies. That machine is also a scanner and from it you can send documents to email addresses (some ICIQ email addresses are saved in the memory). There is also a fax machine in that office.

BINDING

There is a special machine on the first floor as well as covers and tools for binding. They're in the room next to the Library.
