Other useful info
Transportation:
- Buses (Tarragona):
o You can buy your ticket from the driver (1,20€) but it's better to buy a "Bono 20/60" (20 trips, valid for 90 days from validation). If you aren't going to take the bus very often, it's best to buy an ATM card because it doesn't expire (http://www.atmcamptarragona.cat/en/) and you can use to travel outside Tarragona centre (airport, AVE station, Reus, Valls etc). See info for schedules and passes at http://www.tinet.org/~emt/ Take number 54, or alternatively 14 or 24 and walk (the bus stop "Escola d'Art") is right behind ICIQ)
o Where to buy tickets and passes: a) from the ticket&info office in C/Reding (M-V 9.00-19.00 check link) and the bus station (CAC-Pl. Imperial Tarraco) b) from some newsagents (not all of them, unfortunately, check link) http://www.tinet.org/~emt/cat/Venda.htm newsgagents don't sell the ATM plastic cards.
- Buses to/from Barcelona Airport: The bus company is called "Autocars Plana". Shuttle buses leave for Barcelona airport from the bus station next to the Hotel Ciutat de Tarragona, Plaça Imperial Tarraco. At the airport they leave from a poorly marked stand to the south end of the exit from Terminal B (i.e. heading towards Terminal A). The journey takes one hour.
Check this web site: http://www.itenewebs.com/autocaresplana/ for schedules and updated information.
- Buses to/from Reus Airport (Ryanair): http://www.igualadina.com/index.php?idioma=eng In theory buses go/leave there in time for Ryanair flights. You can use the ATM card (see above).
- Buses to/from Estació del Camp (AVE station): service run by "Autocars Plana", see schedules at: http://www.itenewebs.com/autocaresplana/ Buses leave from Tarragona Bus station, Plaça Imperial Tarraco. You can use the ATM card (see above).
- Trains: you can check schedules and destinations at http://www.renfe.es Trains to/from Barcelona usually take 1 hour 10 minutes and cost about 5€ one-way.
There are several long-distance "AVE" trains every day to/from Madrid and fast trains and "AVE" (30€) and "AVANT" (12€) to/from Barcelona, when you check http://www.renfe.es/ select "Camp de Tarragona" as origin/destination. There are buses to/from the AVE station ("Camp de Tarragona" see above).
- ICIQ Mini-Buses: there're buses from Tarragona train station and the AVE station (Camp) to ICIQ at 08:50 and 09:50 respectively. The buses from ICIQ to these stations leave at 18:40 (Tarragona) and 18:15 (Camp). You need to register at Recption and get a user's card in order to benefit from this service http://intranet.iciq.es/portal/Lang!en-US/920/DesktopDefault.aspx
- Chemists': it's easy to find Chemists, the one with the best opening hours is "Farmàcia Fullana" in Rambla Nova (open from 9-21 Monday to Saturday). You can check which are open at night or at weekends/holidays here: http://www.coft.org/guardies/index.html
