go back to Main Page, ICIQ's Basics

  • ABOUT US: Our lab's called PB 12 and at ICIQ we're know as "The Theoreticians" ("los teóricos").

  • ACCESSING THE LAB: You'll be given a key to the door (main door) that's next to the toilets, if you need to open the other door (opposite the cluster room) you'll find the key in the key cabinet next to it. If you're the last to leave the lab (or you come at night, on a holiday) please remember to switch off both the AC and the lights, and lock both doors.

  • MATERIAL, MACHINES:

-Our books, program manuals and CDs are locked in the bookcases next to the main lab door. The keys are in the key cabinet (green keyring).

-Our stationery and office material are in the cupboard labelled OFFICE MATERIALand ARCHIVE 2. Envelopes and ICIQ letter paper are in the cabinet ARCHIVE 2.We usually have a good stock of everything, if you need something or you see that we're running out of anything, please tell Núria V.

-There's a First Aid Kit, it's next to the key cabinet. ICIQ doesn't provide aspirin, paracetamol etc.

-Please tell Martín when you notice any issues with the printers (malfunctioning, toner running out etc). Remember to use GIDIC (Computer Queries & Problems and GIDIC) to report issues to the IT or Maintenance Units

  • SUSTAINABILITY AND RECYCLING:

-The recommended temperature in the lab is 25ºC in summer and 21ºC in winter, so set the air conditioning accordingly

-There's a container for plastic in the "coffee area" and you can put flat batteries in a small container on the desk next to the printers. Print ONLY IF NECESSARY and on used paper when possible, put one-side printed paper on its tray next to the printer, and throw useless paper in the recycling bin.

-You'll find other eco-containers in the kitchens. There're no glass containers, but your can find one right outside ICIQ (where the bus stop is).

-Plastic caps recycling campaign: please save your NETS plastic caps and leave them at reception, there's a container there, the caps are to raise money for kids with serious health issues

  • FOOD & DRINKS

-There is a small fridge we can freely use to put the lunch boxes. Please, consider other users and do not try to store large bags in. And DO NOT leave food/drinks for months in the fridge!!! It is not intended for biological experiment purposes.

-There is a water fountain "hidden" in the small room behind Martín and Moisés (we call it "dark room"). If you finish one bottle, please replace it by a new one. You can find filled bottles in the "dark room" at the end of the lab (Martín's area). If you see that there're only 1-2 left please tell Martín (if on holidays, tell Reception as they are the ones who phone the company)

-Coffee/Tea

-If you leave anything on the coffee machine table, we'll think that whatever you've left can be used/eaten/drunk by anyone!
